Primary Stage

A World Class School Offering the British Curriculum

Primary Stage

Welcome to Dubai British School Jumeira’s Primary School, where our commitment to providing a genuine and enriching educational experience is deeply rooted in our heritage of the Dubai British Schools group and the mission of “enjoy, aspire, achieve”. This encapsulates our dedication to providing a holistic education that goes beyond academic excellence.

Our ethos begins with creating an environment where learning is enjoyable (enjoy). Through fostering a carefully crafted learning journey where our students sit at the core, we aim to cultivate a genuine love for learning. Building upon this foundation is our dedication to nurturing ambition (aspire), empowering students to be resilient, enact bravery and explore their own potential with confidence. Central to our mission is ensuring that every student reaches their potential and celebrates their successes (achieve), whether it’s academic milestones, personal growth, or positive contributions to their community.

Rooted in the National Curriculum for England, our curriculum is designed to foster critical enquiry, purposeful exploration, collaboration, and independence. Through a concept-based approach to curriculum design, we weave over-arching concepts throughout our teaching, igniting curiosity, and encouraging the exploration of ideas from a variety of perspectives which in turn, promotes both compassion and empathy. This approach to curriculum design aims not only to nurture intellectual growth but also cultivate a deep appreciation for the role we have in society.

Reflective of the diverse international community we serve, we embrace an ethos of exploration, encouraging students to delve into their own cultural heritage as well as that of others. Within our curriculum, we place a strong emphasis on exploring local UAE cultural norms, fostering an appreciation for differences and promoting integration. Furthermore, we recognise the uniqueness of each child and strive to tailor our teaching to their individual interests and strengths. Our ultimate aim is to cultivate a supportive learning environment where students feel a sense of belonging, are encouraged to be curious, take ownership of their education, and confidently work towards reaching their full potential.

At Dubai British School Jumeira, our focus is on nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also socially responsible and culturally aware. Through genuine engagement and exploration, we aim to instill a genuine love for learning in our students, equipping them with a transferrable, lifelong skills.
